How to complete your daily check-ins

Learn how to log your work, track time off, and follow best practices for daily check-ins using Proxify’s dashboard.

📌 Overview

Proxify uses a simple check-in system to help members track their working hours and maintain transparency with clients. Check-ins take only a few minutes and ensure your work is correctly recorded for payment.

You are expected to check in daily through your Proxify dashboard. This helps keep your activity, time off, and any variations in working hours up to date.

🕒 Submitting today’s hours

When you check in, you’ll choose between two options - “I worked today” or “I did not work today”.

If you worked, you’ll be asked to enter:

  • How many hours have you worked
  • A short summary of what you achieved

If you didn’t work, select the reason:

  • Not enough tasks from the client - you were available, but the client did not provide work to perform
  • Vacation
  • Sick leave
  • Public holiday
  • Other (provide explanation in extra input)

💡 Prevent situations when you do not have enough tasks

Talk proactively with your client to make sure tasks are lined up for the next 2–3 days.

📆 Requesting and reporting time off

If you take a vacation on the same day, you must inform the client directly.

We strongly advise planning your time off in advance, following the "Rule of 5": for every 1 week off, request it 5 weeks in advance through the "Time off" page of your Proxify dashboard.

👨🏻‍💻 Use the COMMIT method for high-quality check-ins

A check-in summary is a representation of your work that emphasises the value and impact it delivers to the client.

To write a great summary, use the COMMIT structure:

  • It should be Clear - same as when you are writing a commit message.
“Fixed bug when pressing ENTER on form”
    ⛔️ “Made tweaks”
  • It should be Outcome-focused - showcase the value you deliver.
“Reduced landing page load time by 1.2s”
    ⛔️ “Debugging”
  • Make it Memorable - and possible to remember 90 days from now.
“Implemented form validations on Contact page”
    ⛔️ “Jira ticket 31”
  • Keep it Measured - be concise and avoid unnecessary words.
    “Fixed millennium bug”
⛔️ “Resolved longstanding issue in the legacy system”
  • Structure it as Itemized - break long tasks into smaller items.
✅ “Finished landing and FAQ pages”
    ⛔️ “Worked on the redesign”
  • Write it Timely - consistent daily check-in makes successful engagement.
    “Check in every day”
⛔️ “Once a week is enough”
