A practical FAQ designed to guide you through the essentials of using Deel including setting up your account, verifying your details and signing your agreement.


🔐 Account setup & verification

What type of account should I open on Deel: Individual or Entity?

If you work as a freelancer or contractor, you should open an Individual account. If you're representing a company or business entity, choose an Entity account. This decision affects the required documents and payment processes.

How do I create a Deel account?

To create your Deel account:

  1. Go to the Deel website and select Log In, then click Sign Up
  2. Choose Contractor as your account type
  3. Enter your contact details and click Create account

Next:

  • Select your contractor status (Individual or Entity)
  • This determines how your invoices and tax documents are generated
  • If registering as an individual, provide your personal details
  • If using an entity, enter your business details first, then your personal details

Once completed, click Finish Setup.


Can I switch from an Individual to an Entity (business) account later?

Yes. You can update your Deel profile and upload the required business documentation to switch account types.

To switch:

  1. Go to Profile SettingsAccount Access
  2. Click the pencil icon
  3. Select Entity as your account type
  4. Enter the required entity details and save

❗️ Note: Existing contracts won’t update automatically. You’ll need to end active contracts and create new ones as an entity.

💡 Tip: Contact your Support Manager before making the switch.


🆔 Verifying your Deel account

How do I verify my account to ensure full compliance?

To verify your account:

  • Start from the Onboarding Checklist on the home page, or
  • Go to Profile SettingsVerification

Click Verify and complete the Veriff process by submitting:

  • A selfie
  • A photo of your government-issued ID

Once completed, you’ll receive confirmation.

How can I manually verify my account?

Not all contractors can use Veriff, depending on the countries and document types it supports.

If Veriff isn’t available or fails twice:

  1. Click Start Manual Verification from the home page, or select Verify in Account Settings
  2. Upload the required documents
  3. Click Next

You can track the status in the Verification tab. The process may take up to one business day.

How long does the Deel verification process take?

Verification typically takes a few hours to a few days.

💡 Tip: Submit all required documents (such as ID and business registration) to avoid delays.


✍️ Signing your contract

Where do I receive the Deel contract?

You’ll receive an email invitation to sign your contract.

  • Click Review & Sign in the email
  • Complete the digital signature in the Deel app or website

I am still waiting to receive my Deel contract. What should I do?

  • Check your spam folder
  • Confirm your email address is correct
  • Request the contract to be resent, if needed

Do I need to submit any other documents for compliance purposes?

Yes. If additional documents are required:

  • You’ll be notified
  • You’ll be asked to upload them directly in Deel

We recommend submitting all compliance documents as soon as possible to ensure you meet local laws and requirements.
